Another man arrested, man still wanted in connection with Blanding murder Posted on December 2, 2017 by S Y WoodsDecember 2, 2017 As the investigation into the murder of Robert Blanding and the disappearance of his nephew, Chaz Blanding, continues, Channon Preston Jr. was arrested for Accessory After the Fact in connection with the murder. On Friday, December 1, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested 18-year-old Channon Preston Jr. of Lady’s Island on a warrant for Accessory After the Fact of Murder, after the investigation revealed that Preston Jr. had knowledge of and took action to conceal Robert Blanding’s murder on November 21. Preston Jr. was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center, where he was incarcerated without incident. Channon Preston Jr. is the second subject to be charged in the investigation, as 16-year- old Raheem Bennett was arrested and charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon in the Commission of a Violent Crime on Tuesday. Bennett remains incarcerated in the Beaufort County Detention Center. Still at large is 18-year-old Nashon Pringle of St. Helena Island. Pringle is wanted on two arrest warrants for Robert Blanding’s murder: Murder and Possession of a Weapon in the Commission of a Violent Crime. Pringle is to be considered armed and dangerous, anyone coming into contact with him should immediately call Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch 9-1-1. Sheriff’s Office investigators continue to search for missing and endangered 19-year-old Chaz Blanding, who was last seen in the company of his deceased uncle, Robert Blanding, in Beaufort on Tuesday, November 21.
