A special weather statement was issued Tuesday, November 15, for our area by the National Weather Service Charleston.
Boat operators are being urged to use caution in Beaufort County waterways due to Hurricane Matthew debris and dock remnants.
In accordance with Federal guidelines, debris removal from any private road, private community, and/or gated property is generally not eligible for reimbursement. Beaufort County will not remove debris from private roads or private communities.
The checkpoint at Harbor Island has been lifted. Harbor/Fripp Island residents should check with property management/security for access.

The American Red Cross and Salvation Army are providing relief to Beaufort County citizens in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
