This morning’s manhunt for suspects in a Seabrook Road home burglary has ended.
One juvenile is in custody following the three-hour search for two suspects who burglarized a home at 70 Seabrook Road earlier Friday morning, February 1.
At approximately 9:00 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 70 Seabrook Road, Lot #31. The victim reported that two unknown men had just broken a window and entered her home. The victim locked herself in a bedroom where she was able to contact law enforcement.
As deputies were responding to the scene, two men were seen running from the area towards Detour Road.
A perimeter was established in the surrounding area, and members of the Sheriff’s Office K9 Tracking Team responded to assist in the search for the suspects. One of the suspects, a 15-year-old male, was apprehended just after 11:00 a.m. Deputies continued to search for the remaining suspect, however, were unable to locate him.
Investigators reportedly have a preliminary identification on the suspect at large, and the investigation continues as they attempt to verify and confirm that suspect’s identity.
Whale Branch High School was placed under lockdown for the duration of the search efforts. The lockdown was lifted as of 12:00 noon.
