Raheem Simmons, who was wanted for financial transaction card theft, was arrested by Beaufort police on Wednesday, January 16, at a residence on Harrington Street.
An alert patrol officer spotted Simmons and attempted to make contact with him, at which time Simmons reportedly ran into the residence. Additional officers responded and Simmons was reportedly located hiding in a closet inside the residence.
Simmons’s was originally listed as being wanted the Beaufort Police Department’s Facebook on February 2012. According to the Beaufort County Detention Center’s online database, Simmons has been arrested 13 times on charges including traffic charges, family court charges, assault and battery, and drug charges.
