The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a manhunt for two suspects who burglarized a Seabrook Road home Friday morning February 1.
At approximately 9:00 a.m. deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 70 Seabrook Road, Lot #31. The victim reported that two unknownmen had just broken a window and entered her home. The victim locked herself in a bedroom where she was able to contact law enforcement.
As deputies were responding to the scene, two men were seen running from the area towards Detour Road.
A perimeter has been established in the area of Seabrook Road and Detour Road. Members of the Sheriff’s Office K9 Tracking Team are actively tracking the suspects, who have reportedly been spotted running in the woods in the area several times. The Whale Branch High School has been placed on lockdown as the search continues.
Both suspects are described as young, black men. One was reportedly seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and black shorts. The other was reportedly seen wearing a black shirt and camouflage pants.
It is unknown at this time if the suspects were successful in stealing any items from the residence.
Area residents are asked to stay inside their homes and immediately contact 911 should these individuals be observed in the area.
