Suspect in Sheldon shooting found hiding in shed Posted on August 22, 2017 by S Y WoodsAugust 22, 2017 Around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday night, August 22, Beaufort County deputies found the alleged suspect in the Sheldon shooting death hiding in a shed in Big Estate and arrested him for the murder of Lamont Manigo. During their investigation, Sheriff’s Office deputies received information on the whereabouts of the Sheldon murder suspect, who was reportedly identified through the investigation as 25-year-old Dontarious Wright of Seabrook. The information led them to a shed on the property of a Gray Road residence in the Big Estates community, where Wright was reportedly hiding. Deputies converged on the shed and arrested Wright for the murder of 40-year-old Lamont Manigo without incident. He is currently being transported to the Sheriff’s Office for an interview by investigators. After his interview, Wright will be transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center and incarcerated on the murder charge. The forensic autopsy on Lamont Manigo is being scheduled by the Coroner’s Office and will be performed at the Medical University of South Carolina. Sheriff’s Office personnel are still on-scene at the Leaping Frog Lane/Sheldon shooting location and the Gray Road/Big Estate property, where Wright was arrested.
